They only support specific versions of DirectX, and it's not perfect. Instead of having Windows just use the GPU resource directly like it can with the CPU, Parallels has to implement a software GPU for Windows, and then try to accomplish Windows graphics API calls using your host resources. However, the way graphics acceleration is handled is complicated. You would run an entire Windows OS on top of macOS using hardware virtualization features, and regular applications will just work. There are no guarantees, and you can expect either outright failure or some degree of issues. ![]() ![]() One such effort is called Crossover made by a company called Codeweavers. There are efforts to scaffold Windows applications to run on macOS. macOS and Windows are different operating systems so you cannot simply change settings and run Windows applications. There's not necessarily any solution for this.
